Marcos Juarez is an associate in the Patent Department of Arochi and Lindner’s Mexico office since 2008. He is a trained Chemist with more than 15 years of experience in patent practice focusing in the biotechnology, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverages as well as food science industries.
Marcos has a substantial experience as a technical specialist in patent strategy; prior art searches and technical opinions on patentability of an invention; Freedom-To-Operate and non-infringement analysis; as well as patent prosecution including preparing and prosecuting applications at Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) and coordinating patent prosecution abroad in foreign jurisdictions, particularly with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). His expertise includes preparing and prosecuting applications for plant varieties at the National Seed Inspection and Certification Service (SNICS).
Marcos holds a Bachelor of Chemistry from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He is author of several articles including “What’s in a Name? Patent Applications in México” published by International Law Office and “Titrimetric and Polarographic Determination of Carminic Acid and its Quantification in Cochineal (Dactylopius coccus) Extracts” published by the Journal of Mexican Chemical Society.
