Maria is a partner and heads the Trademarks and Other Distinctive Signs Department of Arochi & Lindner. She has more than 20 years of experience handling trademark prosecution and litigation matters. Chambers and Partners’ Latin American Guide (2016) ranks her in it Band 2. Legal 500 Latin America (2015) reports that clients praise Maria as ‘a great litigator’, ‘trustworthy’ and ‘one in a million’. She is “the key name” in hardcore trademark litigation, as her opponents warn in the World Trademark Review 1000 (2015). “If you have any cracks in your presentation, she will exploit them, so you have to be on your very best game.”

Recognized among clients and peers, Maria is known as a thorough, dedicated and aggressive litigator in both, administrative and intellectual property areas. She specializes in trademark and distinctive signs litigation, including proceedings for invalidation, cancellation and infringements, as well as proceedings related to compliance with advertising standards. Her expertise includes trademarks assignments.

Maria is a member of INTA and MARQUES. She served on the International Trademark Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and the Pro Bono Committee from 2012-2015 and currently is a member of the o the INTA Bulletins Committee. She is also a frequent speaker at the International Course on Trademark Law and Practice at INTA’s Annual Meetings.
