Marina Espitia is an Associate of the Patent Department and has more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property. She attained her law degree at the National Autonomous University of Mexico Law School and a specialization degree in Copyright Law at the  Intellectual Property and Competition Law Institute. She is currently studying a master’s degree in Industrial Property, Copyright and New Technologies at Universidad Panamericana.

 

She joined the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property in 1999 and has held various positions in the Divisional Directorate for the Protection of Intellectual Property. Her last job position was Departmental Coordinator of Inspection and Oversight under the Divisional Sub-Directorate for the Prevention of Unfair Competition.

 

She worked as a tutor for the General Course on Intellectual Property DL101s by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) from 2009 to 2013 and as a mentor for the INNOVATIVE WOMEN’S NETWORK and INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY program organized by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property.
