Juan Rodrigo Pimentel is an associate and Head of Patent Prosecution Area in the Patent Department of Arochi & Lindner’s Mexico office. He is a trained Mechanical Engineer with a substantial experience in electronics, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, oil and gas and computer technology and services industries.

He has a substantial expertise in domestic and foreign patents, industrial designs, and three-dimensional designs prosecution including searches in the state of the art, technical and legal opinions regarding patentability and non-invasion of third party rights, as well as, patent drafting, patent filing and registration at Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) and coordinating patent prosecution abroad in foreign jurisdictions including PCT applications. His expertise comprises advising on patent project management, product development, patent portfolio management, technology transfer, and patent metrics.

Juan Rodrigo is an active member of AIPLA and AMPPI. He holds a Master in in Engineering with honors from the Universidad Panamericana, a Mechanical Engineering Degree and Automotive Engineering Specialty granted by the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM). In addition, he has a Diploma in Technology Transfer from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México. Currently, he teaches Intellectual Property to Engineers at Universidad Panamericana.
