Mauricio Lopez is an associate in the IP Litigation Department of Arochi & Lindner’s Mexico City office. He has more than 10 years of experience in intellectual property litigation, particularly in disputes involving trademarks, copyrights and unfair competition cases.
Mauricio has represented a wide array of clients from diverse industries, most notably, in entertainment and media, fashion and luxury goods, food and beverages, pharmaceutical and biotechnology and tobacco. Mauricio’s career is twofold, on one hand he structures and implements litigation strategies and on the other, he participates in the structuring and implementation of IP transactions.
Mauricio structures and implements efficient IP risk and liability mitigation strategies. He also has successfully spearheaded judicial and administrative proceedings, including voidance of intellectual property rights, forfeitures, cancelations and infringements, as well as injunctive reliefs; appeals, and amparo or constitutional trials. His practice on IP related transactions encompasses structuring, negotiating and implementing judicial or out-of-court settlements, coexistence agreements, licensing and franchising.
Mauricio holds a law degree from Universidad Panamericana and a Master in Law from Queen Mary University in London. He is a member of AMPPI and IBA.
