César Alvarado has been an associate in the Patent Department of Arochi and Lindner’s Mexico office since 2014. He is a trained Engineer in Communications and Electronics with more than 12 years of experience in patent practice focusing in the electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, and technological hardware and equipment industries.

He has substantial expertise as a technical specialist in patent strategies; alternative patent dispute resolution and patent litigation including both infringement and nullity actions; prior art searches and technical opinions on patentability of an invention; Freedom-To-Operate and non-infringement analyses; as well as preparing patent applications and prosecuting applications at the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI).

His experience includes 6 years as patent examiner and 4 years as patent supervisor of the Departmental Coordination of IMPI’s Electrical Area Substantive Examination where he performed several substantive examinations for patent and utility model applications, as well as provided technical opinions for infringement and nullity actions.

Cesar holds an Engineering degree in Communications and Electronics from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional of Mexico. He has also participated in numerous patent courses including the “Patenting in Physics and Electricity” given by the European Patent Office (Berlin, 2007), the “CIBIT Program for Patent Search and Examination” given by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (Madrid, 2009), the “Advanced Patent Examination” given by the US Patent and Trademark Office (Virginia, 2010), and the “Patent Examination Practice for APEC Economies” given by the Japanese Patent Office (Tokyo, 2011).
